2017 Favourites

These are my 2017 favourites:

Handmade leather shoes from Redemption in Wellington South Africa.
My prescription glasses from Torga Optical that I got this year. I got a really good price on them and I love them.

Oskava Slippers I got for my birthday from my family. These are proudly South African, super warm and super comfortable. I live in these in winter time.

KeenMind is something I drink to help me concentrate and helps me absorb information much easier. R259.95 for 60 capsules and I drink 2 every day after breakfast.
Softlips in vanilla for my dry lips, this and my phone is always with me even when I'm at home. It costs about R32.95.

My Brew cappuccino that can only be found at Stellenbosch University for R17. I have at least one every day I am on campus. My Brew roast their own coffee beans and make their own blend. The cappuccino is the best temperature when received and ready to drink.

From the left...Essence liquid ink eyeliner (about R46.95), it is a regular brush and black, easy to apply. The brushes are also from Essence, eyeshadow brush and eyebrow brush. At about R35 each. They are pretty, soft and nice to work with. Easy to clean as well, they need some cleaning now.
Two nail polishes and colours that stood out this year are these too. It's hard to find something that lasts on your hands and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. On the left is Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails in the shade Bamboo Shoot (about R65 each for 11.8ml). On the right is Sinful Colours' Sinful Shine in the shade Tan Lines ( about R34.95 for 15ml). I use both of these without a base coat or top coat and it lasts for at least 4 days on my hands.

New beginnings

 Hi everyone I have some great news! In a little bit more than a week I'm moving to my new job. If you are new here, I'm a teacher and I graduated last year. The first term of the school year is already over, so I'm starting in the second term. I took this photo at my recent substituting job at a school close to home. I currently live with my parents in Somerset West and my new job is in Villiersdorp. It's a small town about a hour from my parents' house and about a hour from where my boyfriend studies. I'm moving into the hostile, where I will be doing some duties in exchange for my rent and food. That means no cooking, cleaning and lots of bonding with students inside and outside of school. These last few weeks I've been buying all the things I need, preparing what I want to pack and making lists. Third month on Eltroxin New Formulation

Hi everyone It's time for an update, it's been three months since I've changed to taking Eltroxin New Formulation. It is Levothyroxine with different ingredients to bind the Levothyroxine into a pill. My main reason for changing was that I struggle with really itchy skin especially on my legs and as far as I can remember I never itched that bad when I was on Eltroxin. I take my medication first thing in the morning with water and I wait at least half a hour before eating and/or drinking coffee. What I've noticed so far is: The tiredness from before is much better. When I went to the doctor three months ago I was exhausted from doing nothing all day. I would be in bed for most of the day for days on end. That is gone, I get up every day and I get enough sleep even though I'm a full time student. After exams

Hi everyone It's been months since I last posted, things have been hectic. I'm a final year at Stellenbosch University and graduating next week. Although I haven't posted in a while, I've been thinking about ideas about what to post. My blog now has a Facebook page called Congenital Hypothyroidism. Follow my blog on Instagram too: con_hypothyroidism My exams have been over for weeks, but I'm still recovering. I know this sounds lame, but I'm usually very tired afterwards. It's been lovely, sleeping an average of 9 hours a night, staying in bed watching series and just relaxing. No makeup, rarely leaving the house and wearing my pj pants. This is usually how my holidays start, first I hibernate and then I start doing things I never get time to do. So far it's been mostly lots of sleep, pj pants, nail polish, series, movies, starting to blog again and making my graduation dress. I've been sleeping so much and I promise you I'
