Does exfoliating work?

Image
Hi everyone About a month I decided I wanted to try exfoliating. I exfoliate my face once a week and it helps to get rid of my dead skin and some acne. I've never exfoliated my body before. I was just thinking that I was applying lotion or creme my skin, but does it really completely wash off or does it just build up on my skin? I honestly don't know the answer to these questions. This is why I decided to try exfoliating so my skin can be completely free of any products before I apply any lotion, body butter or creme. I bought this exfoliating mat as Dischem for about R30 (about 2.24 USD), which is really inexpensive. I use it with my Dove soap. What is nice about this mat is that you don't have to buy any expensive or additional products to exfoliate. This is great, especially if you are on a budget or a student like me. The first time I exfoliated it felt really strange, it feels like I was scratching an itch and I was going all over a bit hard. I only f...

REVIEW: Eucerin Original Extra Thick Creme

Image
Hi everyone Two blog posts ago I wrote about my struggle with itchy skin and the body butter I used. The body butter worked for a while, but I still have times that I itch like crazy. Crazy to the point where I want to scratch my skin off, it sounds terrible but it's the honest truth. My mom came home one day and told me about these tubs of crème she saw at the pharmacy. We went to Dischem that following weekend to check it out. There were 3 different ones and I didn't know which one to chose. I chose this extra thick one for very dry compromised skin. It promises to seal in moisture and restore the skin's barrier. On the back it says: Emollient-rich formula seals in moisture Soothes and protects very dry, compromised skin Relieves dry skin associated with eczema, psoriasis, or drying medications to minimise the risk of skin irritation and allergies, no parabens, fragrance or colourants have been added Recommended by Dermatologists and Pedia...

May & June favourites

Image
Hi everyone Today I would like to share some of my favourite things of May and June. Some makeup, lotion and others 😊 I've wanted to do this for a while now. It's sometimes hard to find things here in South Africa that really works and fits into your budget. Real Oskava slippers also proudly South African. Blanket from Mr Price Home, this has been my best friend throughout this cold exam time, this blanket is big enough to fit on a double bed. Softlips Vanilla flavour has an Spf 20. I always need lipice and I can honestly say that I actually use less Softlips during the day than the cheaper alternative of Labello as it lasts longer on your lips. This is a brown eyeshadow in the shade: Mr mocca-bean. I use only this eyeshadow and mascara and it looks great. This one is THE favourite. I've been struggling with acne these last few months and it seems to be clearing up. When I get spots I use this LA Girl green pro.conceal. Yes you read...

Highly recommended creams and soaps for dry skin

Hi everyone Today my skin is itchy which is also one of the symptoms. My skin is one of the things I struggle the most with, being tired is one thing I can go to bed, but if you don’t know what to do with your skins anymore what do you do? When I was very younger soap use to burn me a bit, but it doesn’t anymore. I just prefer to use soap that makes my skin feel better without burning me and without unnecessary fragrances. My skin is just very dry. It isn’t dry all over and still feels soft and so on but I can feel it’s dry. I’ve tried lots of different soaps and lotions over the years. I’ve tried everything from Ingram’s, Aqua Cream to Pure Cream. Cheap to expensive. I’ve come to the conclusion that what I use now might only work for me for a few months and then it won’t anymore, honestly no idea how that works but that seems to be the pattern. Generally, my skin is dry on my face, arms and mostly my legs. The cream I’m using right now is Nivea Body Cream Rich Nourishing. ...
